Congratulations to the winners of the 2025 Yong K. Kim Memorial Prize!

Stanley B. Lubman, a pioneer in the study of Chinese law and legal reform, passed away on October 29, 2024. Among his many distinctions, he was an extraordinary teacher, including at Harvard Law School as a Visiting Professor.

As admirers across the United States and around the globe mourn the passing of former President Jimmy Carter on Dec. 29, 2024 at the age of 100, three current and former Harvard Law professors share their memories of working with him and reflect on his life and legacy.

Earlier this year, we were saddened to hear of the passing of Professor Fang Liufang, a renowned scholar of civil and commercial law and a founding Dean of the China-EU School of Law at China University of Political Science and Law who also taught at Harvard Law School as a Visiting Professor.

On October 9, EALS hosted a hybrid celebration of the 35th anniversary of the F.Y. Chang Scholars program, which has enabled scores of talented young legal scholars from China to study at Harvard Law School.
