Dr. Zhang Nongji has worked at Harvard Law School since 1990, first as Library Assistant for Chinese Materials, then Bibliographer for East Asian Law. Her current position as Librarian for East Asian Law involves serving both the Law Library and EALS. A graduate of Peking University Law School, Dr. Zhang holds a Doctoral degree in Law, Policy, and Society from Northeastern University and a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Simmons University. As an area studies librarian, Dr. Zhang provides research services to faculty members and reference consultations to faculty, students, and other library users. She selects and manages Chinese and Korean law materials for the library and coordinates library services work for EALS. A 2004 Douglas W. Bryant Fellowship recipient, Dr. Zhang has published works on Chinese law and library collections, including Legal Scholars and Scholarship in the People’s Republic of China: The First Generation 1949-1992 (Harvard University Press, 2022).
